Kelly Byrne, CFA

CEO

Kelly is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Point Credit, responsible for leading the firm’s vision to bring a systematic investment approach to the loan market. MPC was founded by Kelly Byrne in partnership with Eagle Point Credit.

Kelly spent 18 years at Voya Investment Management, most recently as Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Capital Markets, where he helped grow assets from $2 billion to $30 billion. He held leadership roles across credit products and built the systems and processes that underpin operational and performance risk management. He now focuses on leveraging market data and technology to streamline and improve portfolio management.

Kelly holds a BSE in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA from Arizona State University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder.

Tim Maloney Headshot

Tim Maloney

Head of Loan Trading

Tim is the Head of Loan Trading for Mountain Point Credit, responsible for portfolio management, trading strategy, and managing sell-side relationships.

He spent seven years at Citigroup, most recently as Head of Leveraged Loan Portfolio Trading, where he worked across leveraged loans, portfolio optimization, CLOs, and securitized products. He helped launch Citi’s first-of-its-kind CLO optimization business, which became the leading portfolio trading platform across banks by market share, and was an inaugural member of Citi’s Market Technology Acceleration Lab, leading the development of advanced loan trading applications.

Tim holds a BS in Finance and a BA in Spanish from Virginia Tech.

CTO

Steve is the Chief Technology Officer of Mountain Point Credit, responsible for developing the firm’s technology strategy and leading the team in building state-of-the-art, data-driven investment solutions.

He has nearly four decades of experience, including leadership roles as Chief Information Officer at Contrarian Capital, Head of Technology at Viking Global Investors, and Head of Application Development and Enterprise Architect at Moore Capital Management. He specializes in data warehousing, business intelligence, and enterprise integration to enhance investment data management and trading platforms.

Steve holds a BS in Management with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University.

Phil Li, CPA Headshot

Phil Li, CPA

CFO/COO

Phil is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Mountain Point Credit, responsible for building and overseeing the firm’s finance, accounting, and operations functions.

He has over a decade of experience in fund compliance, finance, and operations. Before joining MPC, Phil was CFO and COO of Marble Point Credit Management, a CLO and loan-focused asset manager, until its acquisition by Investcorp. He then served as COO of Investcorp’s US Credit Management business, overseeing operations, cost synergies, and budgeting for the structured products platform.

Phil holds a BS in Accounting from Binghamton University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Loan Trader

Steve is a Loan Trader at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for executing loan trades and managing related operations.

He has more than a decade of industry experience, including as a Leveraged Loan Trader at RBC Capital Markets and in operations at Bloomberg. At RBC, he helped establish its Distressed Debt business, developed the RBC Loan Risk system in Python, and managed the Loan ETF creation/redemption process.

Steve holds a BBA in Finance from Loyola University Maryland.

Data Engineer

Leo is a Data Engineer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for building and managing the firm’s custom data warehouse, data pipelines, and agile reporting capabilities.

He has nearly a decade of experience, including roles as Director of Data Engineering at Lokavant and Data Engineer at BeneLynk. He has designed and built custom data platforms, including a clinical trial metrics platform in Dialectical Behavior Therapy now used by leading research organizations.

Leo holds a BS in Finance from Western University Ontario and an MS in Mathematical Finance from Boston University.

Director of Credit Analytics

Amanda is the Director of Credit Analytics at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of issuers’ financial data.

She has over a decade of experience, most recently as Vice President at Voya Investment Management, where she provided fundamental credit analysis for high-yield issuers in the consumer, restaurant, and business services sectors. She began her career as a Research Analyst in Goldman Sachs’ Global Investment Research group.

Amanda holds a BS in Finance and Marketing from the University of Arizona and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder.

Rahul Naik, CFA Headshot

Rahul Naik, CFA

Operations Manager

Rahul is the Operations Manager at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for building and overseeing operational functions, including loan settlements and portfolio compliance.

He has a decade of industry experience, most recently at Oak Hill Advisors, where he managed bank loan settlements that ranked in the LSTA’s top ten two out of three years during his tenure. He also built a quality-control dashboard to oversee an outsourced settlements team. Rahul previously held operations roles at alterDomus, Apollo Global Management, and Morgan Stanley.

Rahul holds a BBA in Finance from Temple University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder.

Software Engineer

Ted is a Software Engineer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for developing custom applications and implementing AI technologies to enhance the firm’s technology capabilities.

He has eight years of experience, including as Senior Software Engineer at Crafted Solutions, where he led client engagements across the full software development lifecycle. Previously, Ted was a Senior Software Engineer at Verition Fund Management, where he developed a middle-office data management platform as the Treasury Department’s founding software engineer and managed the team hired under him.

Ted holds a BS in Computer Science and Classical Studies from Dartmouth College.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Developer

Mason is an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Developer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for creating AI solutions that improve workflow and business processes.

He previously interned at MPC in 2024 and 2025, focusing on data visualization and database access tools. Mason’s prior experience includes roles as Uncertainty Scientist III Intern at Lehigh University’s Computational Uncertainty Lab and Data Science & Advanced Analytics Intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He has built models across time series, computer vision, and natural language processing, and co-founded a collegiate tutoring company.

Mason holds a BS in Computer Science and Applied Statistics with a minor in Economics from Lehigh University.

Application Developer

Justin is an Application Developer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for building user-friendly front-end applications that support the firm’s investment and data tools.

Before joining MPC, he was a Software Engineer at Avis Budget Group, where he conducted replication testing across booking microservices, maintained post-release service testing, and performed regression and performance testing on APIs using JavaScript.

Justin holds a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University’s College of Engineering.

John is a Quantitative Analyst at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for developing algorithms and conducting backtesting to support data-driven investment decisions.

He has five years of experience, including as an Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Montana State University and Statistical Consultant at the Statistical Applications and Innovations Group. John has led national forecasting challenges and published research in leading statistical journals.

John holds a BS in Applied and Computational Mathematics, an MS in Statistics, and a PhD in Statistics from Virginia Tech University.

Lester is a Data Engineer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for designing modern data architecture to support performance and transparency across the investment process.

He brings over two decades of experience in enterprise data architecture and engineering, building scalable systems for industries including financial services, healthcare, pharma, telecommunications, and higher education. Previously, Lester was a Director at UBS, managing a data warehouse of fixed income, CDS, and loan reference data.

Lester holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science from Goa University and holds Snowflake SnoPro Core and Snaplogic Certified Enterprise Automation Professional certifications.

Jagruthi is a Data Engineer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for designing and developing data models and reporting solutions using Power BI.

She has nine years of experience in data and analytics across industries including technology, healthcare, and logistics. Prior to joining MPC, she was a Data Analyst at Microsoft, a BI Analyst at JB Hunt, and a BI Developer at Molina Healthcare.

Jagruthi holds a BCom from Telangana University.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Developer

Chase is an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Developer at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for developing scalable machine learning models to generate business insights and improve decision-making.

He has experience as a Software Engineer Co-op at Danbury Mission Technologies and as a Machine Learning Engineer at BayesFlow, where he worked on time-series modeling, protein diffusion modeling, and graph networks. Chase has also contributed to academic research in machine learning and to the Keras project.

Chase holds a BS in Computer Science and Cognitive Science with a minor in Mathematics, and an MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Controller

Ryan is a Controller at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial reporting and accounting functions, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting strategic growth.

He has 11 years of experience, including as Assistant Controller at Silver Point Capital, where he managed fund accounting and reporting for credit and special situations funds, led internal valuations for illiquid assets, and developed custom automation tools for reporting and reconciliation. Ryan began his career as an Assurance Senior Associate in Asset Management at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Ryan holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Junior Loan Trader

Erika is a Junior Loan Trader at Mountain Point Credit, responsible for supporting the trading and portfolio management team, conducting market analysis, managing sell-side relationships and monitoring portfolio investments.

Before joining MPC, she was a Structured Credit Trading Analyst at Barclays. Previously, Erika held various roles as a Summer Analyst in Sales and Trading at Credit Suisse and a Financial Advisor Intern at Monarch Financial Solutions.

She holds a BA with a double major in Mathematics and German from Bates College.
